LESS IS MORE FOR 2019
I've been busy rearranging and selling off a few things that I've decided I don't want to take to the new house! It's been very refreshing to declutter and embrace less furniture, decor and clutter.
After struggling with the award living room layout and too much furniture I moved the blue accent chair upstairs. I was so happy with how well the straight lines went with my bed frame and found a matching blue throw which I added to the bed to incorporate more blue into the room. In December I also sold my bedside lamps and mirrors which I plan on replacing with a different style of lamp and some art after we move. I also have big plans for some new DIY
end tables!
Once the blue chair was out of the living room I was left with a couch, chair and love seat all in a similar colour palette. I tried several different layouts but finally settled on one that makes the room feel so much larger (and created a secret hideout behind the couch).
I didn't stop there! Back in December I also sold my dining room table. We owned two dining room tables (one was too big for a previous house) and I really missed using the other table. Even though it's larger it makes the room feel bigger and less cluttered AND it was much more functional for our holiday entertaining.
I feel like I'm on a roll! I have more plans to keep decluttering and selling now that the kids are in school.
